BitDefender: Using BitDefender 2009 on Windows 7 Beta

Windows 7 is the latest version of the Microsoft Windows series of operating systems developed by the Microsoft Corporation. The company has stated that it will release the official version of Windows 7 in October 2009. Before the release of the official Windows 7, Microsoft released the Beta version of Windows 7 to the public in January 2009 and will be available to the public until June 2010.

The BitDefender is a line of security solutions software consisting of products used for homes, for businesses, and for Internet service providers. The SOFTWIN Group of Companies is the developer of the BitDefender software products and released the BitDefender 2009 editions this year.

Since Windows 7 Beta became available to the public, numerous computer users have installed it to their computers. Because the BitDefender products are one of the most popular antivirus software today, many users have tried to use BitDefender 2009 on Windows 7 in hoping they could get the speed and efficiency of the Windows 7 and the superior security protection of BitDefender 2009.

However, using BitDefender 2009 on Windows 7 is not feasible as of now due to problems with software compatibility. The BitDefender website of http://kb.bitdefender.com has stated that BitDefender 2009 is not fully compatible with Windows 7 Beta because it is not yet the complete edition of Windows 7.

The Microsoft official website of http://www.microsoft.com/ has said that the security software brands that are presently compatible with Windows 7 Beta are AVG, F-Secure, Kaspersky, McAfee, Norton, Panda Security, and Trend Micro.

Many users have downloaded Windows 7 Beta using BitTorrent file sharing protocol from software product websites or online file sharing groups. The users will then try to use the BitDefender 2009 on Windows 7. However, you should be careful when you download Windows 7 Beta from via BitTorrent and other online file sharing groups. The torrent files may contain viruses and other malicious software that could infect your computers.

Malware attached to Windows 7 torrent files could alter the BitDefender software that you already have in your computer. You may think that while you are using BitDefender 2009 on Windows 7 without any problems, the malware could have altered your BitDefender’s protection features. This could let viruses and other potentially harmful programs to infect your computers.

However, the BitDefender website has officially declared that the next edition of the BitDefender software products, which is BitDefender 2010, will be compatible with the Windows 7 official version.
